The Alcohol and Drug Abuse Institute has an outstanding opportunity for an 80% part-time Director of Training and Technical Assistance. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Leads the conceptualization and provision of Northwest ATTC-sponsored educational and consultative processes and services for the addiction workforce in Health and Human Services (HHS) Region 10, encompassing Alaska, Idaho, Oregon, and Washington • Provides direct educational and consultative services for behavioral health organizations and the workforce members they employ, in areas of demonstrated subject matter expertise including, but not limited to:Clinical Supervision; Motivational Interviewing; Recovery Oriented Systems of Care; Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment • Helps to build and maintain a multidisciplinary network of regional and national subject matter experts to serve as contributors on Northwest ATTC-sponsored events and technical assistance projects in HHS Region 10 • Serves as a consultative resource to Northwest ATTC staff and affiliated subject matter experts in the development of technical assistance projects to promote adoption of evidence-based practices and quality improvement processes among the HHS Region 10 workforce • Represents the Northwest ATTC at state and regional events as means of ongoing assessment of workforce needs, and engages in regular strategic planning sessions with the Northwest ATTC Director and Co-Director to meet those identified workforce needs in HHS Region 10 • Assists in the coordination and implementation of special events and projects arranged in conjunction with sponsoring officials at the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and/or the National ATTC Network • Acts as primary liaison to HHS Region 10 tribal communities to determine needs specific to American Indian/Alaska Native (AIAN) populations, and develops relevant training curricula and technical assistance projects to aid the workforce serving these communities REQUIREMENTS: • Master’s Degree in health related field: ie, education, medicine, nursing, psychology, public health, social work. • Six years experience in supervision or professional-level work in substance use treatment.  The position requires a graduate degree in a health services discipline, and familiarity with formal educational planning, counseling, and management theory.  Demonstrated experience as provider of direct educational and consultative services (i.e., trainer, technical assistance provider, organization developer) for behavioral health organizations in the noted subject matter areas. • Demonstrated subject matter expertise in several evidence-based practice areas for the substance use field including, but not limited to:  Clinical Supervision; Motivational Interviewing; Recovery Oriented Systems of Care; Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment. • Knowledge of federal agency programs, regulations, policies and procedures. • Familiarity with states and partner institutions in the region. Experience in working with individuals from diverse populations and varied backgrounds. • Skills in the implementation of complex projects, consultation and meeting facilitation; oral and written communication, and report preparation. • The Northwest ATTC seeks an individual with advanced understanding of how to design and implement technology transfer strategies in the field of behavior health, based on extensive direct experience working with providers, clinicians, and governmental agencies in the areas of service improvement planning and workforce development. Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration. WORK CONDITIONS • Frequent travel within the state, region and nation.  Operates within an office environment
