Summary

You will serve as a Mooring Line Handler Worker in the Waterfront Services Division of TRIDENT REFIT FACILITY, BANGOR.

Responsibilities

  • You will perform the placement of pier platforms, gangways, barges, fendering, and other berthing support and ensures pier arrangements are accurately set up or adjusted.
  • You will fabricate, install, maintain and repair mooring lines and all equipment associated with mooring evolutions.
  • You will work with journey level Line Handlers in the line handling evolutions of vessels to piers, into and out of Dry dock, Explosive Handling Wharf (EHW), and Magnetic Silencing Facility (MSF).
  • You will assist in the safe and secure moorage of all vessels at Intermediate Maintenance Facility (IMF) including vessels undergoing refit or visiting vessels.
  • You will assist journeyman line handlers set up appropriate berthing locations based on factors like physical characteristics of the vessel, purpose of the vessel?s stay, pier and crane capabilities, and space consideration.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
