The Environmental, Health &Safety (EHS) Director is responsible for ensuring the overall workingconditions arein compliance with local and corporate occupationalsafety and health regulations and policies.Responsibilities include building support through aligning with operations todevelop vision and strategy to enhance our Injury Free Environment (IFE).Reporting to the RegionalSenior EHS Director, this position will lead the EHS function for the Seattleoffice.
Major Duties & ResponsibilitiesInclude: Directs and administers specific functions of the EHS program for the company in the Seattle area. Creates, evaluates, educates, and administers the EHS program deployment on projects. Conducts surveys, evaluations, inspections, and investigations of incidents and activities; communicatesfindings to appropriate entities within the organization. Creates and effectively delivers EHS training. Manages a large team of EHS professionals, including delegation, optimal deployment of resources, and development of staff skills. Partners with the organization's senior leadership to ensure alignment of the EHS functions to the business objectives; creates organizational level strategies to support safety programs for employees and customers.
Additional Duties &Responsibilities: Refines working knowledge of EHS programs by applying EHS procedures. Directs and supervises the activities of subordinates including EHS Managers and EHS Coordinators. Participates in auditing and enforcing EHS standards. Processes and manages workers compensation claims Prepares, maintains, and retrieves records, reports, or documents that may be required to meet corporate or regulatory requirements, including monitoring application of EHS standards. Promotes EHS awareness and fosters this awareness throughout the company, project or office. Promotes the IFE culture between clients, co-workers and subcontractors. Participates and provides input on regional and national Skanska issues and subcommittees. Participates and provides representation in local, external EHS organizations as well as outreach within local construction industry forums.

Job Skil ls & Abilities: Good computer knowledge and efficiency, including but not limited to, Microsoft Office products Strong presentation skills Great understanding of construction industry Excellent understandingand ability to administer the ISO 14001 and 45001management systems Strong written and verbal communication skills in English Basic math/statistics and accounting skills Functions effectively as part of a team Effective decision-maker Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times
Specific Requirements: Holder of an OSHA 30 hour certificate
Education and/or Experience: 10+ years of experience in the EHS profession, specifically supporting large construction projects in diverse market sectors Bachelors degree in a related field CSP designation preferred
