A dynamic start-up company in Spokane is seeking a controller to add to the team. The Controller/HR Manager will play a significant role in the company, working directly with the CEO and senior management to deep and broaden relationships within the company as well as with our vendors and other outside partners. In the Controller role, the successful candidate will oversee all financial, accounting and purchasing activities. This person will be responsible for budget management, financial analysis, payroll, accounts payable, and financial reporting. The Controller will also be charged with the critical responsibility of monthly client billing to certain customers. In the HR role, key areas within the human resources department will include benefits review and administration, job description review, assist with on-boarding of new employees and assist with off-boarding for transitioning employees. Duties and Responsibilities as follows but not limited to: Finance: ? Manage and process monthly client billing for certain customers ? Ensure collections for monthly invoiced clients. ? Manage cash and prepare monthly cash flow statements ? Employ our online bill pay system to process accounts payable and expense reimbursements. ? Use QuickBooks to generate financial reports monthly and for annual tax preparation. ? Work with departments to generate annual budgets. Report variances monthly on budget to actuals. ? Prepare performance and asset flow data for yearly valuation purposes. Update shareholder equity statements based on updated valuations. ? Communicate monthly financial metrics to the CEO and senior management. ? Prepare monthly statements including P L and balance sheet ? Prepare yearly statements including P L and balance sheet ? Process employee expense reports in a timely fashion ? Reconcile monthly credit card statements against receipts. ? Track and report shareholder loan, equipment leases and mortgage monthly. ? Prepare and deliver quarterly financial reports to staff at quarterly meetings. ? Track R D expenses for R D tax credit purposes. ? Manage the preparation and processing of payroll for personnel. ? Prepare annual budgets ? Track and report to CEO and senior management, forecast to actuals against budget ? Prepare end-of-year documents including W-2, 1099, and others Human Resources ? Assist department managers with hiring staff, including posting jobs online, scheduling interviews and generating offer letters. ? Implement personnel on-boarding and off-boarding procedures. ? Track PTO including vacation and sick leave. ? Oversee benefits enrollment and management. ? Ensure compliance with HR policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications: ? Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. ? Accounting designation or an equivalent combination of related experience and education. ? 5+ years of accounting and/or financial management experience ? 5+ years of human resources experience and/or human resources certification ? Effective interpersonal, listening, writing and communication skills. ? Ability to work closely with senior management within a fast-growing, entrepreneurial environment. Desired Qualifications: ? Must have the ability to take initiative, perform with minimal direction and work independently as well as in a team ?
