Position Summary: We are currently seeking an On-site Support Engineer to work in a fast-paced technology environment with world-class engineers and customers on cutting-edge technologies. Primary responsibility is to ensure that the customer always has access to the critical data that our products provide. This position serves as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Wireless Data Networks 4G/5G/LTE and IP Networks (Switching and Routing). This position performs hands on Deployment and consultative support to customers and maintenance of highly complex Netscout deployment including nG1 Applications, Iris Applications suite, Infinistreams, and other Business Analytic Solutions.
Work with customers to troubleshoot and resolve complex interworking problems, data feed issues and user reported product issues.
Using Netscout tools, design and develop reports for 4G/VoIP/5G networks.
Identify and execute strategic customer focused operational projects by coordinating changes to the configuration, SW/HW upgrades and any Netscout product related matters.
Operational support activities such as user management, data feed issues, HW replacement, platform upgrades, and issues/project reviews on a regular basis.
Interface with our support, development and SQA teams to identify and to resolve customer issues.
Provide documented in-depth technical solutions and training for customer and other engineers as required.
Contribute to the development and ongoing improvement of Technical Support procedures and infrastructure.
Advise customer on network management best practices using Netscout product suite.
Expert knowledge of a wide range of state-of-the-art network practices and technology to advice on resolution of critical and complex network issues
Must have in-depth knowledge with at least 5 yrs minimum experience in network management and customer support field.
Must have 5 years of experience in Telecom service provider industry or Telco vendor industry.
Strong knowledge or experience in the IMS/LTE/5G core networks wireless and 3GPP/3GPP2 standards.
Good understanding of VoIP and Wireless Protocols (SIP, RTP, Diameter etc.)
Strong Unix/Linux/Storage systems knowledge and adept on the related disciplines
CCNA and proficiency in Unix/Linux required (CCNP preferred)
Experience working with Solaris/Linux compatible scripting language is highly desired.
Bachelor's Degree in Electronics/Communication/Electrical or Computer Science/Network Security or equivalent discipline.
Experience working remotely, but cooperatively with HQ and other support teams.
Effective communication skills with ability to clearly explain ideas and influence decisions
Self-motivated and constantly looking for ways to improve both product and process
Exceptional organization, time management skills and multi-tasking skills
Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment, under stress and within time constraints
