At a Glance: Lower Columbia College Head Start is looking for a part-time hourly Program Assistant that has a desire to make a positive difference in the community. The Program Assistant provides administrative support tasks to assist the program in achieving health outcomes for all enrolled children in the Head Start / EHS/ ECEAP program. This position helps support to staff so that they can better serve families.
This position is part-time hourly and works 75 hours or less per month, 11 months per year. The Program Assistant reports to the Health Specialist.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain and Evaluate Records
Compile and input health information into the program database (ChildPlus).
Assist with providing and documenting health services for Head Start / EHS / ECEAP children.
Send for medical and dental records.
Send and/or respond to emails, health memos and staffing forms.
Send and respond to Health emails, staff memos and school district referrals.
Essential Functions
Program data entry into ChildPlus.
Compile month reports and route to appropriate specialist.
In consultation with supervisor, develop professional work goals and complete a Professional Development Plan.
Conduct child vision and hearing screenings with Health Coordinator.
Complete health supply requests (i.e., first aid kit supplies, etc...).
Teaming with Parents and Staff
Is able to plan and work cooperatively within a clerical team, with program staff and with other adults in the center.
Receive visitors and telephone inquiries, explains procedures and program routine.
Meet with team members to collaborate on planning and delivery of services.
Maintain constructive team relationships and coordinate effective goals by identifying and planning ways to work together successfully.

To be successful in this role, you will need:
High school graduation or equivalent AND one year of applicable clerical experience OR equivalent education/experience.
Strong written and interpersonal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel software
Strong time management and organizational skills
Ability to work cooperatively with persons of all socio-economic leveles and abilities
