Job Details

Specific duties include:
Testing of fire sprinkler systems including but not limited to wet, dry and pre-action fire sprinkler system(s) per NFPA standards.
Documentation of fire sprinkler systems by use of handheld device as well as documentation of related device(s) associated to fire alarm systems.
Servicing of wet based fire sprinkler systems.
Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for responsibility of new and different requests, while exploring opportunities to add value to job duties.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading trade publications as well as related code documentation such as NFPA, NAFED and NFSA materials.
Interact with customers in a mature and professional manner.
Ability to follow direction and work independently when needed.
Preferred experience in servicing and testing Kitchen/hood suppression systems.
Preferred experience in testing Backflow prevention devices.
Preferred experience in servicing and testing Portable fire extinguishers.

Skills/Qualifications:
Preferred NICET certification level II (Wet Based Systems)
Minimum 1 year experience in Fire Sprinkler Inspections.
High School diploma or equivalent GED.
Preferred Certificate of fitness for City of Portland for: Water based fire sprinkler systems
Preferred Certificate of fitness for city of Portland: fixed hood/booth suppression
Preferred State of Oregon backflow testing certificate
Reliable transportation is a must including valid driver s license.
Attention to detail is a must due to the nature of life safety testing.
Positive attitude and willingness to learn as the job progresses with the intent of improvement to become a lead inspector in the future.
