East Clayton Housing and Farm Community Support Worker

Organisation: Turning Tides Location: East Clayton Farm, Washington Contract type: Permanent Hours: 22.5 hours per week Salary: £14,217.60 per annum (FTE £23,696.00) Deadline for applications: Wednesday, 15 July 2020 - 11:59pm

The applicant will need to have a passion for supporting and developing the talents and aspirations of homeless clients, through effective housing management, and a love of working on the land and with animals. You will work alongside the Lorica Trust’s staff and volunteers to enhance a thriving community and assist in developing their portfolio.

Turning Tides is a multifunctional, complex needs homelessness organisation that works in Worthing, Adur, Littlehampton, Horsham and Mid Sussex. It has over 100 staff and 300 volunteers. Its mission is to end the need to sleep rough.

This is an exciting new collaborative venture between Turning Tides and the Lorica Trust aimed at providing high quality housing with support, set within 120 acres of National Trust owned farmland situated on the A283 between Washington and Storrington in West Sussex.

East Clayton Farm offers alternative provision for young people with a variety of needs, primarily at risk from permanent school exclusion, via engagement with the farm and its activities. Our clients living in the adjacent Farm House accommodation are expected to be part of this growing, inclusive and thriving community, taking up opportunities to learn skills in land and animal management and becoming valued contributors.

Due to the rural location of this service, the successful applicant must have a full driving license and access to a vehicle.

To apply, please ensure that you send us a completed application form, which includes your responses to the shortlisting criteria listed in the Person Specification for this role, along with a completed Equal Opportunities Questionnaire; see our website to download.

Please be advised that we will only accept applications made on our application form and do not accept CVs.
