This company strives for excellence and is currently seeking a dynamic individual to join their team as Business Development Manager in the Pacific Northwest.
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for understanding each customer’s needs to provide effective solutions for assigned accounts and to drive profitable growth within assigned territory. This position will work on building and gaining approval of customer strategic plans and execution of trade plans in collaboration with the Director of Sales.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
STRATEGY AND PLANNING Creator of customer-specific annualized trade & marketing plans that are aligned with corporate strategy & objectives Ensures the use of all Sales and Marketing tools are fully executed and specific to each customer Utilizes internal relationships to influence sales strategy and course corrective measures necessary to deliver budgeted goals Capable of adjusting strategy and tactics through the course of the year Adept at translating customer plans into Store level strategies that drive improved merchandising and distribution results Proficient in business knowledge & customer base to identify opportunities & solidify partnerships at Buyer, Meat Manager and/or Store Manager level
SALES LEADERSHIP AND EXECUTION Optimizes customer sales performance and profitable volume growth via distribution, new product platforms, trade promotion optimization using all available tools for each customer (SPINS, Trade, Marketing, Digital, IFR, etc.) New Business Development: Identify new opportunities at accounts, to sell ideas to the customer Customization and delivery of presentations to customers, using customer-specific data Creates, executes and tracks store level volume, merchandising and distribution goals specific to each Manage, update, and course-correct promotional programs via appropriate tools Management of product issues at the customer level (withdrawal/ quality issues, etc.) as needed
Qualifications and Requirements: Minimum 7 years’ experience in the Food and Beverage CPG industry-Protein/Deli preferred Sales Management experience preferred Bachelor’s degree in Sales or a related field required Possesses knowledge of customer business drivers, product line and marketing positioning to deliver business solutions A solid understanding of Nielsen Analytical framework that can be leveraged to support business-building initiatives Seeks out an analytical customer-specific framework to optimize frequency, price point and overall trade strategy Consistent use of trade management and trade optimization tools to improve business performance Strong analytical skills with an ability to create fact-based presentations Professional communication skills verbal, written and electronic Familiar with the use of SalesForce and PX Software preferred Local and/or overnight travel is required 75% of the time Position is located in the Pacific Northwest, Greater Seattle or Portland preferred
