Amazon Air is seeking a motivated candidate to help design its future air network to allow Amazon to continue to delight its many customers worldwide. Amazon Air is a rapidly growing dedicated air transportation network built to exceed customer expectations for delivery speed and meeting long-term capacity needs.
A Supply Chain Manger on the Air Network Capacity and Strategy team will be responsible for designing immediate and future network plans and creating long term strategic recommendations for fleet, gateway, hub, and sortation needs. Through data analysis, modeling, and collaboration with internal stakeholders and industry research you will work towards developing an optimal Amazon Air transportation network maximizing asset utilization.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
* Developing detailed air network capacity plans based volume and operational inputs while using metrics to drive continuous improvement
* Partnering with internal business units including operations, ground transportation, finance, research, technology, engineering, construction, and global real estate to effectively expand the air transportation network
* Creating long term, strategic plans for aircraft, gateway, hub, and sortation requirements
* Utilizing strong communication skills to influence outcomes, and overcome barriers across the organization
* Navigating through ambiguity and rapidly changing goals, while meeting deadlines and delivering on commitments
* Collecting and interpreting operating cost data and future volume forecasts
* Developing plan of record operating plans that align with companywide planning cycles
* Evaluating potential changes to operating models and working with technology teams to create and leverage automation tools
* Providing business justification for large-scale infrastructure and fleet decisions
* Analyzing data from numerous databases (using Excel, Access, SQL and/or other data management systems) and to perform ad hoc reporting and analysis as requiredBasic Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Transportation, Business Administration or related field
* 3+ years in transportation, logistics planning, or other relevant experience
* Excellent written and oral communication skills with an ability to analyze large datasets and convey complex messages
* Proficiency in Advanced Excel
* Ability to travel up to 15% of the time to various facilities in the Amazon network
