Brinderson is looking for an experienced Apprenticeship Training Coordinator to join our team. . The Coordinator will provide overall support for the Company's apprenticeship requirements through instructional design and facilitation of courses catered to a wide range of employee skill levels (craft, front-line field-staff and managers). In conjunction with Corporate Training department, the Training Coordinator of will also be responsible for the creation and delivery of training material to craft workforce in the areas of safety, craft skills, and apprenticeship requirements.

Responsibilities Under the primary direction of Brinderson, LLC’s Pacific NW General Manager, performs a wide range of activities related to classroom instruction and manages lesson planning, design, and implementation of apprenticeship programs. Manages and develops class content as required to implement the Brinderson LLC Apprenticeship Program and project training program such as craft skills training through NCCER, and various safety training programs. Works with a variety of state agency leadership, business leaders, and local stakeholders to coordinate workforce development system efforts, including working with businesses and state agency staff to develop and maintain Registered Apprenticeship Programs. Mentors, develops, coordinates and provides dotted line supervision to a team of subject matter experts, managing work allocation, training, performance evaluations, and the building of an effective and efficient team. Oversees apprenticeship staff to include coordinators, office managers, instructors, and administrative assistants. Trains and oversees craft instructors, coordinators, proctors, and evaluators to meet NCCER and Brinderson, LLC Apprenticeship standards. Evaluates instructor performance and the effectiveness of training programs, providing recommendations for improvement. Will access to and provide input into Washington State ARTS (management information system) to provide timely and accurate data on apprentices and to monitor performance against program requirements. Confers with management, committee, and conducts surveys to identify training needs based on projected production processes, changes, and other factors. Responsible for workforce development to include both federal and state initiatives for apprentice and journey level employees. Plans, develops, and provides training and staff development programs, using knowledge of the effectiveness of methods such as classroom training, demonstrations, on-the-job training, meetings, conferences, and workshops. Prepares training materials and classroom for class activities. Coordinate equipment for hands on demonstrations and evaluations. Manages the execution of the project training programs in any other location that is required. Plays an active role in the development and promotion of the safety culture on the project through the training process. Develops and organizes training manuals, multimedia visual aids, and other educational materials for the Apprenticeship Program and related programs. Reviews and evaluates training and apprenticeship programs for compliance with government standards. Coordinates established courses with technical courses provided by community schools and designate training procedures as it pertains to the Apprenticeship Training Program. Works closely with Corporate Training department to ensure consistency and alignment across the organization. Performs other responsibilities as required or assigned.
Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Adult learning or similar curriculum preferred. 5-7 years' experience managing an apprenticeship program and developing and delivering NCCER curriculum. Strong understanding of legislation and regulations in support of apprenticeship programs, and a working knowledge of applicable government policies and priorities and other agency mandates. Good understanding of engineering, procurement, and construction terminology, concepts, and relationships preferably in the oil and gas/petrochemical industry. NCCER credentials highly preferred. Strong computer skills including operating knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). Exceptional written and oral communication skills. Ability to travel to various project on short notice to provide training. Knowledge of design, development, and delivery of training and learning events Must be skilled in providing lectures, hands-on training as well as facilitating workshops. Must exemplify high safety, ethical, and professional behaviors. Must have demonstrated ability to act proactively and independently. Must have the ability to complete and remain current with site-specific and 20-hour high hazard training. Mechanical knowledge (i.e., pipefitting, boilermaker, etc. experience) to credibly lead craft skills classes. Must have the ability to acquire and maintain a TWIC card.
